Does anyone know if they're is an affect-able *luck* table in New Horizons? Or what are/if there are variables on a daily basis?

I've been playing all day and this is the first time I've had absolutely horrid luck. The best fish I've caught in a 3 hour stretch was one (singular) knifejaw. I've had days where I caught half a dozen rare fish in a single play session. Was I just incredibly lucky? am I just incredibly unlucky today?

What does everyone think?
