Finasteride/Dutasteride

Hey guys,

im 19 a started fin about 5 days ago. I have been taking every second day 2 days after my second pull, I noticed my dick couldn’t get as hard, still erect, but not as hard around 80%, and it also wouldn’t hold for long. I have also had very watery semen.

i have only taken a total of 3mg. Which is very little, but yet I am having these slight sides. I am not overly stressed and know that the nocebo effect is real (even though I know this is not in my head). I’m going to carry on treatment and hope that all comes back to normal.

Has anyone had these sides early on and then they went away while continuing treatment?

Stop cold turnkey? Forever? Or try at a lower dose? Than 3x a week?

My advice: stop now.

I have had life-changing side effects since stopping the drug seven years ago, and they aren't getting better: numb penis, no sex drive, low semen volume, and some other things. See my recent posts to this reddit.

Hey man I’m in a very similar situation as you. Same age and I’ve been on the drug for about 6 days now. Have you seen improvement by any chance, or did you stop taking fin all together?

Hey man, I stopped the drug and a week or so later I was feeling back to normal. I restarted with 0.5mg 3x per week.

The nocebo effect is NO JOKE. I would regularly check my boners, and would try at times that I wasn’t horny whatsoever. This resulted in them never feeling ‘normal’ or as they were before fin. I tried not to think about it and be reasonable that I’m in such a low dose. Not thinking helped when I was actually horny my erections were good!

Don’t over think it. Stay on it and reassess in a month or 2, that’s my advice. I’ve been on 0.5mg for a month now. Still very early days

Same situation with me too bro. I started taking it and I’m 95% sure all the “sides” were in my head. I was constantly overthinking everything but I learned to relax and that has helped me a lot. Been taking .5 every other day now for 2 weeks and I feel ok. Hoping that keeps up. Thanks for the response good luck man!
