Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC vs Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC 3X

Build Help

Hi everyone, I'm wondering are these the same card with an updated name? I'm shopping for a water block and some compatibility sites are saying the blocks are compatible with the Gaming OC but not the Gaming OC 3X. Thought it may have just been an error and wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

I'm not sure but if you don't find an answer here check r/watercooling

The non-3X version supports VirtualLink thru USB-C so there might be PCB changes that didn’t alter the overall dimensions of the card but just enough for some blocks to be incompatible.

Edit: missing words

Stay away from Gigabyte as a brand, their quality has really fallen in last ~5years.

I would look in to MSI branded parts. Their quality is much higher and company has amazing customer support.

I'm surprised to hear that. Everyone seems to think really highly of Gigabyte's recent lineup both motherboards and GPUs. Have you had issues with them in the past?

Yes I did. I had issue's with several of their parts ordered via New Egg, Amazon. Had to also contact their support and it was terrible.

edit: failing parts in under 6 months. 1660ti, 2060 super and 2 2080ti's. I've built 17 new gaming rigs in last 6 months had 6 failed Gyga parts and no other brand had more than 2

Thanks for letting me know! Looking into it more I see a lot of people are in the same boat as you and having issues with Gigabyte cards dying. I think I'm going to go with EVGA instead.
