Why aren't npc scavs spawning at the start of the match?
I find it so annoying for missions where you are required to kill scavs, whatever the map.
I can only see advantages to having scavs spawn in their high spawn area from the start of the match.
- More fights
- less pmc camping, if PMCs have to fight their way against NPC's to a location then people will know where they are a lot quicker.
- Harder for hatchlings. (Take Weather station for exemple, a lot of hatchlings go there early to have a chance at a GPU. But there are never a single scav there at the start of the match, while mid-raid it sometimes spawn 3-4 scavs there. Why not have them here from the start? It would help hunting scavs and it would protect high loot from hatchlings.)
I just finished the 30 scavs in interchange with the 3m/respirator quest and what a joke it was. It was best to just get into oli and then sit there for 15 mins for the scav to spawn. Instead of running around the map and looking for kills.
Scavs should spawn in their high spawn areas from the start THEN spawn the extra scavs during the raid as per usual (including player scavs).

I always go kill PMCs first and then if scavs spawn, I'll go kill them.
That's usually what happens, which is exactly the problem. Specially when you're doing a mission where you are not geared to fight PMCs.
I’ve just stopped acting like I’ll be able to do Scav only killing. Instead of super low gear, I’ll mod my weapon up and load it with good ammo and wear class 4 armor so I can handle a few PMCs if I need to. Tasks that required special gear or kills with a certain gun always pissed me off when I knew I was basically dead if I saw a PMC. Now that I am kitting up I’ve actually had more fun and some scav killing runs end up being PMC bloodbaths and it just makes sense to reset and leave with PMC gear.
I just use mosin's for some quests. Works 10/10.
Mosin or ak74u is my questing gun. Usually the mosin because I always get it back and it can kill anyone. Plus one tapping thicc bois with the mosin gives a feeling like no other
I get what you're saying, but not everyone is a chad in this game. I did my 30 scavs with the respirators pretty easily but both my friends are struggling to get even 1 per match, the problem isn't so much getting into the map it's that it's freaking EMPTY. So I just tell them to hide or go afk for 10 mins and come back when the scavs have spawned, which is just illogical and and not fun at all.
... afk for ten minutes is still generally how I start any customs raid to avoid thicc bois from 1 tapping me in the first 2 minutes. I just wait 5 minutes past the last time I heard a grenade go off nearby.
people have complained about late spawns but everyone spawning at min 39 is also not fun if you’re just trying to run quests.
Yea I just try to put myself in a position to actually fight back when I inevitably run into PvP. I know what you mean about lack of funds or fight experience. My take is as a level 32 who has their bitcoin farm running enough to fund those runs, and I used rat pack kits for most questing before that. I still die a lot questing, but I find them less frustrating and off putting using gear.
Scavs not being up right away is a bummer for sure on these quests. I tend to try to cross map fast and hit scavs up closer to my extract whether I am geared or running light.
