Question for Veteran Barbarian Players

I am a Nintendo Switch Player Screen Name is ( Prodigy ) - Current Paragon 1371 Still need some upgrades on gear better FOT and couple ancients so i can augment strength onto --- Currently Running a WW Rend Barb Based off of Free's Posted Build Guide on the Blizzard Forums - Awesome Resource !

This is only my second season -19 was my first and i made it to just a little over 1500 paragon got started 1 month after the season started ! -

I am running the Captain Crimson - Blood / Vow Combo and love this setup ! ran same last year! I personally feel the more you run with the same build the better you get with it and the more you learn i should far exceed where i ended last year which is my goal !

In the guide Free Posted it is recommended to keep CDR above 50% especially when running CC variant --

Currently my CDR is 54% and i have been stacking area damage which currently is at 73% I have the ability to change the CDR on my Vow from 9% to 24% AD to bring my AD to 97% and thus would drop my CDR to 50% which still keeps me in the requirements --- My Gut tells me to make this change to get a better % when i manually cast Rend !

Do You Think this is a worth wild change ?

2nd Question is the Stat Damage - not % but the number range say for example 115 -189 - is this number added to the average base damage on every hit you make ?

I am assuming it is always better to take a damage percentage modifier than the number range is this the correct way to think and look at this ?

I am really enjoying this game , totally enjoy the grind of finding and improving gear - just wish i could find one useful primal last year i managed 3 pieces i was able to use - none so far this year at all not even close, even got duplicates of a useless ring weapons which no builds use LOL at this point is almost comical LOL

Really appreciate the advice on the above questions

Hi OP.

We don't push GRs with the BK swords--they're better suited for speed-farming T16. For pushing GRs, you will want to use the IB set or Ambo's + Doombringer. Of course, you may need to use the BK set to farm some decent IB swords or enough mats to upgrade/reforge, and if that's the case, you can try re-rolling the CDR to AD. If you find yourself short on cooldown, no worries, you can always roll it back. The less CDR you have, the more careful you need to be about managing cooldowns, collecting Zodiac procs, and timing your skill use. In other words, less CDR = more careful game play.

For what it's worth, I don't recommend the Crimson's variant to anyone with less than 3-4k Paragon. If you have less, you'll get way more bang for your buck out the core build with either FnR equipped (and Band and Zodiac in the Cube) or Band and Zodiac equipped with CoE in the Cube. If you're using the Crimson's variant without CoE, you're doing less damage than the Core build with CoE.

As for your last question, I assume you're referring to the Average Damage stat? If so, it can be very useful, though difficult to fit into the build. It's never going to be an optimal stat roll (AD, elemental damage, and CDR are almost always going to be more useful), but if it's an unavoidable affix, you can do a lot worse.

I'm not on here very often, so you're better creating an account on the official D3 forums and posting in the Zodiac Rend guide for more info and assistance.

Free are you the same Free that posted the guide i am following - if so super thanks that guide is my bible LOL sort to speak -- i need to create an account over there so i can post but i will get around to it thanks for the advice....

I do have a secondary barb set up well in the closet - which i am gathering gear for which follows the core build gonna use the ambos / doombringer set up- for me i struggle with the fury upkeep which is what frustrates me a little - he also seems like he runs so slow - i have to start trying it more and getting better with it or just working more with it to get used to it.

Thanks again for all the advise

Yup, that's me. Glad the guide is helpful. It's currently the longest-running and maintained build guide for Barbs in D3--and maybe even for any class, period.

I feel ya with move speed--BK is so much faster, but for pushing, nothing beats the IB set.

You would go IB set over Ambos and Doom what should be my cube if i go Ib's ?

Which Sword should be in my main hand ? Ambos or Doombringer ? Sorry for the Questions

Ambos, with the passive that generates fury for wielding swords.
