Weird that grocery deliveries are no-knock?

Whole Foods

Isn't it odd that Whole Foods groceries are considered no-knock by default? I would think for perishable groceries that a customer would want to know right away that their eggs and produce are sitting out on the patio.

On the video for logistics deliveries in the app, it says that customers appreciate when you ring the bell if the delivery is before 8 PM, so it seems strange to me that perishable groceries would be no-knock.

A lot of mother's do not want you to ring the bell or knock and wake up the baby. They get notified as soon as you deliver the groceries.

Or sending the dogs into a frenzy

Customers are notified once the driver is close.

Good to know. I had no idea. Now I feel dumb because I always text from the previous delivery how far away I am but I’m guessing I’ve annoyed some people with redundant notifications.

lol there's a 50/50 chance my customers are at the door waiting on me because of the app letting them know I'm close.

They want to know when their orders are close especially if they ordered chilled or frozen items.

Beyond notification in the app that the driver is close, you also have to remember that unlike logistics packages, the customer has picked a 1-2 hour window that works for them for the package to arrive with Whole Foods and Prime Now.

Good point, thanks.

At this point...any deliveries is no ring and left at the front door. Regardless of what the customer wants done. I'm not gonna catch the virus! We can get back regularly scheduled program when it peaks!

I don't knock or ring the bell for any flex deliveries unless the customer specifically requests it and even then it's after I've marked it as delivered to front door in the app and taken the picture when necessary.

Unless they've requested otherwise, doesn't ringing on a Logistics reduce the risk of a stolen package?

I don't think so really.

I send a text to every customer that amazon delivery is here when I pull up

Customers using Sprint may not get the message until after you leave 😂

I asked about this at the warehouse as all of my Fresh orders were No Knock..apparently that’s Amazon’s doing to limit contact between us and the customers due to the virus.

Which makes no sense since it's always been this way as far as I know.

Wasn’t like that when Prime Now rolled out in 2017 and when it morphed over to Fresh here in Charlotte.

It's certainly been this way since well before covid19 was discovered.

Obviously it hasn’t since I’ve been doing it almost three years.

Currently, it's a social distancing thing.

It's always been the default...

Yeah, but it's currently being marketed as a social distancing thing
