New player guide: Swarm fight run down part1
Lots of new player in game and it's obvious a lot of them don't understand the sequences of the swarm fights (IE, set-piece horde battle with fixed scripts). So here's a quick run down of all the swarm fights. It's for newbies so I won't post any extreme solo level tips. Search the word "extreme" in the WWZ sub and you will find a lot of videos of people clearing extreme level solo or with only bots. Those are great for advanced tactics once you level up but you gotta put in your own time to watch them. they are too complicated to describe all in one post.
MOST IMPORTANT: WAIT FOR TEAMMATES TO BE READY before you click that start button for event. Always look around and make sure teammates are not still searching for weapons, learning the layout, and setting up defense kits. DON'T be that guy clicking on every shiny button you see, you are not a fucking attention deficient hyper-active shaky ass chihuahua hopped up on coffee.
NY1:
First swarm fight is a trap, do not focus on the wall with the crawling zekes on it. Because once you start, waves of zekes and special will spawn from top floor and run down the escalator on both side of the walk way. So split up the team and deal with those guys first (or bunch up and fight from the opposite side where the elevator shaft it). Wall zekes will take forever to climb up and you have plenty of time to deal with them later. Last thing you want is everyone shooting at the wall then get ass raped by bulls from behind and fail within 5 minutes of starting the game.
For the atrium fight, 2 large separate waves will spawn from across the street, with one small wave+specials drop in behind you from the top floor. Deal with those drop-down zekes ASAP, then focus on the zeke on the fence. Failure to kill the drop down will cause team wipe as you get crushed from both sides. Cars outside can be blown up to take some pressure off.
Now down into the subway. Each time you pick up a supply box, AI director will spawn a wave of zeke+specials your way regardless whether you maintain silence. Always grab the boxes two at a time and stick together. Once you pick up, don't run back to the train. Setup defense position ASAP, wipe out all the spawns before you drop supply off. A lot of people doesn't know this and then get trapped and die when he get surrounded.
NY2:
First swarm is easy, there are two large waves from the opposite direction, and zekes dropping down behind you from the top after wave 1. Pyramid takes a while to climb and there are plenty of heavy weapon to help you out. Most veteran team can clear this without using any heavy weapon but use them if you see towers building up. There are also oil barrel on ground that can wipe out large # of zekes for you, use them to your advantage.
After the gas chamber part, stick together and keep climbing up. The zeke spawn won't stop so just run as quickly as you can. Person in front has to remember to check behind them and help anyone lagging behind. If you have a gas fixer it makes everything much easier. The door at the top won't close if you leave one teammate dying on the ground below so cover each other's backs.
Second swarm is a much harder due to larger waves. The pattern is similar to the first fight, but the waves are bigger and you have more specials dropping down behind you. Use any fire barrel on the ground. Remember to kill the zeke around the train first because I am seeing a lot of new player who forget and then fails. If you want to use the digging machine, make sure to have one teammate cover your back on top while the other two cover bottom. You can also do 2 team of 2's, one cover each side of the train. Most fails I've seen is people simply can't deal with the zekes dropping from behind and got hung up killing them, and unable to clear the train fast enough.
NY3:
Depot fight consist of 3 very large waves crashing against the fence, with smaller waves and specials drop in through the side fences and behind you where you came from). The last wave is the most dangerous, it always have side spawn + specials. Clear out the side with guns and save your heavy weapon for the fence. I see too many people just unload the 50-cal on first wave and then get screwed by the 3rd wave, big mistake, save it for 3rd wave. Leave 2 person on top to fire on the fence + push button, and 2 at bottom to clear out the loose zombies. I usually stay at the bottom since you are closer to the ammo box, and you can get better penetration/headshots with your gun. If a teammate goes down too far away from team or up on top, don't try to save him, it's just too many zekes. Leave them up there and setup new defensive position inside the sewer, they will respawn once you close the doors.
Dock fight has infinite waves until the boat arrives. 3 large spawn rotate against the fences plus 3 smaller spawn points (1 on top of the high way and drop down, 1 next to the dock where the winch is, and 1 next to the smaller fence next to the water). There are 3 radios that can call mortar strikes on the 3 big fence so use those as much as you can, they have cool down and can reload. The wave spawns are pretty random except for the one next to the winch. Whenever the winch is stuck or the boat arrives, small waves ALWAYS spawn next to the winch so wipe those guys out ASAP. The smaller wave from the small fence side tend to surprise people, so always keep an eye out for that. The rest is just fire power and covering each other's backs. This one's harder than you realize because you can find yourself surrounded very quickly. A lot of people like to stay on top, I don't. There are 3 spots to climb up on top and you can find yourself getting sandwiched with no escape. Just fight on ground where you can line up shots much easily.
NY4: This one is harder than other NY for sure.
If you can't maintain silence on this map....you will die before the hospital, it's that simple. Landmines are all over the place after the train station stop, so learn to disable them by pressing "E". Blow one up and you are in big trouble. The red auto turrets also break silence, and certain cars have alarms that alerts more zekes for you. It's really hard to not break silence but try to stay quiet as long as you can. Once you are past the station, watch out for more land mines and disable them if possible. Don't be a smart-ass and try to get more weapon XP by shooting the huge horde of zekes wandering around the bottom street, YOU WILL DIE. The garage before the hospital often have more mines and red turrets. Just shoot them and make a run for it. BTW. the cars can explode too. Yay for Murica!
Finale has 5 objectives. Objected 1, 3, and 5 are waves from 3 directions: Stadium, Garage, and also the hills to the right side. Their order is randomly picked. Object 2 and 4 are to turn on the power in 3 possible spots, also randomly picked, there is one power switch per floor including basement. You can use the flare gun to mark waves outside so they can be bombed, but DO NOT stand too close to the fence due to the large blast radius. There are lots of running here because the objectives can be far apart sometimes depending on your luck. All these waves are very large so be ready for some real hard fighting and dying quite a bit. There are always two ammo boxes, one outside on the ground (2 possible location) and one on the second level of the hospital (3 possible spawn location). Learn the location and find your tier 3 guns next to them, especially the one inside. Run to the exaction zone in the middle as soon as this last fight is done because large waves will continue to pressure you until it's over. I seen too many wipes where one guy just don't get it, and the whole team goes down while waiting for him.
The hospital map is really complicated so I recommend watching youtube video of extreme clears like this one and learn the sequences. Or you can learn by dying a lot, we sure did when the map first came out. https://www.reddit.com/r/worldwarzthegame/comments/fawb7z/ny4_gunslinger_extreme_solo/
Jerusalem 1:
No tricks to the first fight. Sound the alarm and you will get multiple smaller wave of zekes from the front. The only thing to notice: after the first set of front wave are done, smaller wave will spawn behind you and crawl through the metal gates. Newb tend to forget about them until it's too late and you get your ass kicked.
Greengold's house is relative easy. Don't crowd all on top or the bottom level. 2 up and 2 down usually does the trick. Top two player should cover the two walls where zeke climb up. 1 bottom player cover the left side of the house behind the barricade, and the other cover the middle/right side. Don't be a smart-ass and run around thinking you are going to get more kills, stick to your position and it should be an easy fight. The only problem comes when screamer spawn behind the ditch or truck, the two top player should try to kill him while the bottom holds the fort down.
For the finale, there are 5 spawns points, two from the directly you came, two in the court-yard. The most dangerous one is behind the helipad where zekes run along the top of the wall and then jump over. Always have one teammate cover that post. My recommendation is 2 person on left side and 2 on the right. Use your mark button to signal if you need help. Be mindful of the wave spawn and assist other position when your position has no spawn, but don't hog kills and leave your post unguarded for too long. Pick up high penetration gun like the classic battle rifle, bullpup, or battle rifle so you can bring down those pyramid faster.
Jerusalem 2:
Dam fight is hard, period. Especially since you only get one tier2 weapon pick up unless you breach a door. Best to split up into team of 2, and hold down opposite corner of the dam. Don't stand in the middle. SAVE YOUR AUTO TURRETS, DO NOT DEPLOY ON DAM. Save your auto turrets until the gas station part. You can always find defense kits here so setup the 50-cal+mortar on the two opposite corner, never in the middle again. There are always 3 large waves. Use the 50-cal against zekes in the middle with small burst, don't waste ammo you need it for 3 waves. Use the mortar against zekes climbing up on the two opposite corners when they pile up. I usually use one round/wave for the first two wave and 2 rounds for the last wave. Gun down the rest. Watch for specials dropping from the top around the 3rd wave, that's why you always want team of 2. You should be able to cover Greengold from the corners so there's no reason to run into the middle. IF you are low on ammo, pick up ammo after wave 2.
Canyon fight. Before you start, remember that once you drop down to the road, small wave ALWAYS spawn behind you in the canyon. Clear those before kicking down the barricade for the event. There are land-mine all over the road so stay by the barricade. There are two large waves coming down the road, 3 person should cover the road while the last person watch for specials dropping down again from the canyon. It's likely that second wave will breach your position, so don't panic. Back up in a straight line slowly and maintain fire and hopefully you have a HR/Ext around for more power. If you start strafing, you WILL get shot by teammate and deserve it.
Gas station fight is pretty hard for new learners. If you saved any turrets, use them and point in the direction of the van. There are 2 spots. Zeke will spawn randomly all over the place, but the most dangerous ones are from the two spots behind the van, and the two spawn location from the direction you came. Best not to split up at all but you guys probably won't listen, try to stick to team of 2 at least, and watch for lurker that's sure to spawn in the rooms. Let Greengold attract zekes while you shoot them from a distance. Again, don't run around panicking because you will get shot by teammates. Stick together and take it slow until you learn all the parts box locations. Try to pick up rifles, zekes tend to group closely so any +2 penetration rifle will work wonders if you line up the shots.
Jerusalem 3:
Land mines land mines everywhere, and the sandy color ground doesn't help. I laugh whenever ppl get blown up. It's OK, I get blown up plenty when I am new, it's part of the experience so take it like a man and hopefully you got a medic. (OK I know i just said that but if you still get blow up in insane/extreme, you probably don't belong there). For the first fight, use all the defense kits to help take down the incoming waves, save some heavy and equipment. Watch out for specials dropping down on the little hill on the right. It's a straight forward fight until the door opens. Once the door open, RUN INSIDE. Anyone dumb enough to hang around outside WILL DIE. Now is the time to whip out those heavy/equipment and keep the waves out while doors closing.
Once the door close, you have to turn on the generator and be ready for two more large wave crashing against the fences on the two opposite end of the tunnel. So make sure you hurry and setup firing position as soon as the generator is turned on. Specials can sometimes spawn from top and add to your trouble, the worst is when you get a screamer on the opposite end. Again, watch out for objective completion notification when fighting the second fence. You have to run behind the large fans ASAP and turn it on.
Final fight is pretty straight forward. Just 5 HUGE waves rotating between two side and smaller wave+specials drop in from the building on the left. Sometimes zekes can also run down the middle and drop on the middle platform so watch out. Take care of the specials first before the normal zekes. Really not a lot of tricks to this one, use all the defense kit and there are plenty of heavies littered around + 3 breach doors. So go read Britney's breach guide. If you cannot overwhelm them with firepower, there are switches on the two sides that open up the floor vent so zombies turns into mince meat. Just don't do it when teammates are on them, otherwise you lose one man for the entire fight. Once countdown is over, mop up any loose zekes before go into the blue extraction zone. The door won't open if there are zombies around so you have to clear the area first, but don't be that guy staying outside trying to pick up weapon XP. THEY WILL BE SHOT TO DEATH BY TEAMMATES AND TOTALLY DESERVE IT
