You know, when I look at Dragalia Lost, I can't help but wonder a hypothetical scenario.
What could Fire Emblem Heroes had looked like had it focused squarely on an original world with its own large original cast instead of trying to be both its own thing and a big crossover at the same time.
Dragalia Lost definitely benefits from better developed characters and world as a result of not being a crossover game at heart. Hell, it even develops Heroes characters better which is kind of sad.

What could Fire Emblem Heroes had looked like had it focused squarely on an original world with its own large original cast instead of trying to be both its own thing and a big crossover at the same time.
The developers can make the original FE characters being "original" characters themselves with a bit of a different background that they all live in one world instead and interact with other FE characters out of their norm, while also retaining their initial personalities and background (or epilogue personalities like FE6 Bartre where he eventually manage a bar for himself), even without the Lord titles of certain characters.
From there, character development and spotlight can happen for a lot of these characters that a main cast meet. They will basically become like the characters in Granblue Fantasy. For instance, one can make a story event around dealing with Izuka (from Radiant Dawn) and his troublesome idea >!that is the experimentation with the Feral Ones!< that cause problems in a certain village or city with Pelleas as that story lead, around FE5's Magi Squad (Ced, Asvel, Brighton, Machyua and Lara), around L'Arachel's adventures and many more.
In other words, alternate universe.

I don't think Heroes would be as popular if they went that road. Its biggest appeal is the cast taken from the entire franchise. DL may be a good game, but I couldn't even be bothered to check it out because quite frankly I don't care about any of the characters there

I wish Feh has more crossovers. I love games that add in your favorite characters. Even if they're just other nintendo games, itd still be something.
Would love to see Zelda or XC characters in Feh.

Honestly, I don't get what IS's deal with Sharena is.
I'd argue Alfonse and Veronica have actually had decently good characterizations in Heroes, so the writers are clearly capable of pulling it off.
Yet, their neglect of Sharena almost feels intentional to me at this point, like they seriously just don't care about her at all, and I don't get why. Book 3 almost looked like it was setting her up for something but it was the Alfonse and Lif show instead. And while Book 4 has featured her more often, it still hasn't added much to her character.

It feels like they don't even know what to do with her.
Alfonse had some good moments in book 2 and really started to shine in Book 3, I really hope Book 4 is Sharena's time to shine.

And that's probably the saddest thing. She feels like more of an accessory than anything else. Something to fill up space while Alfonse does most of the work.
I like to think it can't be that hard to give Sharena some grand objective in life other than making friends with everybody. Heck, I'm sure some people on this very website could probably think up some good ideas for her.

I mean, they could, but they don't. meanwhile, Anna is pretty much only "generic commander" in story and Mr Krabs (like all annas) during paralouges. And Bruno is on the longest vacation in history (didn't even pop into book 3).
guessing the main cast isn't really a big concern for IS. makes sense from a business perspective where they are the least desirable heroes to focus on (tho ironically enough, spring is the one time they have businesses value).

It feels just plain old boys-are-the-best-girls-are-worthless attitude. The girls are for eyecandy, comical relief and to show how "awesome" the male MC is. ಠ_ಠ

Considering Lucinas birthday is along with the anniversary of FE, it'd be a shame if she wasn't featured in an event that's most likely happening because of FEs 30th anniversary.

Still find it hilarious that Veronica in DL is getting her mana spiral (which is like the equivalent of a weapon refine) before she even got released in FEH.

that's an understatement. A mana Spiral is more like a grindable 6 star promotion than anything else.

Cassandra is the worst shadow wand in the game, only winning over Kleinmann and that's just because he doesn't have a spiral.

considering her she will most likely be Dark Healer/Staff, so she probably will compete against G!Cleo

Guesses are Ike, Eir and Bruno if we go by the logic from the first part gacha. However many are expecting Loki because she already had art in the event's story, but I feel like Bruno got namedropped way too much in Veronica adventurer story not to show up
