I dunno what's less fun. Not having enough stones to summon for a unit I want cause I didn't save or saving and getting shafted anyways...

Honestly almost deleted the game after not getting even 1 STR Cooler after 700 stones or ANY featured units to be exact....

I tell this story every single time...
I saved for months for AGL LR Gohan, I probably wasted about 1500+ for that Gohan and got shafted so fucking hard I almost quit the game. If I didn't do a yolo single near the end of the banner and get him, I probably wouldn't be playing the game anymore.

I saved for the celebration. I guess is a better way to say that. We all speculated a transforming Gohan and Cell, so I bought into the hype and saved.

The point of saving isn’t to get a specific unit, it’s to wait for high value banners where all the units are top tier. If you were saving for a specific unit then that’s basically the same as summoning for a specific unfeatured lr on a top legendary summon banner. It’s just a waste of stones unless you have some insane luck.

But that's what I feel like most people do save for, a specific unit.
Remember when people saved their stones for Broly and Gogeta? And when it turned out that the banners for both of them were mediocre at best, people still summoned like crazy. Or remember when people busted their stones for K&C? Alot of people save for specific units.

Broly and gogeta were amazing units at the time just that their life spans weren’t as long as others since the LGE came around soon after making units with low defensive capabilities behind. As for K&C, no one busted their stones for them. People kissed their asses but anyone with half a brain cell knew that that banner was garbage besides the three new units

Then after you've done saving for all those months for those so called high value banners you get shafted and there go all those months of saving
Also while I did say "specific unit" doesnt mean there werent other good featured units from STR Coolers banner and thus you can say STR Coolers was also "high value"
I hate that word because it implies that you should ONLY summon on specific banners which as I said above if you get shafted it renders them useless
So just pull whenever you dont have many of the featured units on a banner

The point of saving those stones for high value banners is not only to try and get better units, but to specifically give you the best chance to pull top tier units, if you summon in the anniversary, you will not only get one free multi after three multi summons, but also one free ticket summon after four multis, meaning if you did 10 multis in coolers banner, in Gogetas banner you could have gotten 10+3+2=15 Multis, giving you 50% more chances for a banner with 3 Dokkanfest LRs and top tier EZAs and DFEs, so what I think is meant with high value isn't just top tier units but how much worth are you getting from the banner from your stones, instead of wasting 1 multi every banner here and there you maximize your chances of getting better bang for your buck in the end. And yeah, you could always get shafted in the end, it is RNG after all, but you made sure you had the highest chance possible to get the best stuff.

That's what I do, I look at each banner and see what units they have and whether they will work with what I have, I end up saving more without realising and every now and then I may throw in a quickie summon, get slapped in the face with no good units, then proceed to wallow in in my own sadness

If that's how you get maximum enjoyment out of the game, then absolutely go for it, I just don't have fun summoning only on big celebrations.
P.S. He is certainly no Cooler or Beerus, but Android 13 is still good nonetheless.

You can do that sure.That's OP's point though. Top tier doesn't necessarily mean fun.You can't even define "fun" by your logic because it's YOUR logic.Everyone has different preference.
To me for example, I hate almost all super type units. Saiyans in particular.90% of cards are literally just Goku,Vegeta,Gogeta,Vegito,Black with again color swapped versions in base,SSJ and blue.Even majority of their teams are just overlapping .For me personally, I couldn't imagine anything more mindnumbingly boring than that and pretending they're all any different. They could be however top tier they want.
I prefer extreme and unique characters far more for those reasons. They are not just color swapped versions of themselves, all have different unique designs,different super attacks ,everything that is not the repertoire that you see from saiyan characters. Baby,Cooler,Cell,androids,Buu,Dabura etc etc.
"Top tier" = "better" ="summon" is a lazy view imo but that's upto you.But it's definitely not something to follow blindly,because it's in the end objective what you find fun and best. Hell, to me LR Baby is more fun than anniversary LRs.

You're not guaranteed anything but an SSR per multi. You could save up thousands of stones and not get those fun new units.

If u Summon on anything u want u dont have anything guaranteed either heck u even have a much lower Chance to pull the unit u want because u have less stones this discussion is pointless anybody has the right to summon for what HE desires and people should be fine with it if someone saves their stones or spend them immediatly but in the aftermath nobody has the right to complain about the other and i will guarantee u there will be people who are salty they dont have enough stones for the 5th year ,because they spend alot of their stones on random banners .If u want an specific unit its fine spend ur stones but just dont complain why u got less value out of your multi summons then other people Who saved their stones for a Boring ass Time to have higher rates for better units my opinion on that is i would rather summon for the vegito Banner for example then on the bardock Banner as much as i like bardock as a unit im Sure he will return on the download celebration so it will end up just like transforming vegeta for me went from 0 to 3 dupes in one banner.

I mean it depends. They have cool animations, but if I wanted to see those animations I would watch a YouTube video. From the most part, I've been told it's best to have the 5th year fusions on the 3rd slot when they're untransformed, and you aren't going to see them go Blue for any long than a turn in most events.

I'm having way more fun with SSBKK,Cooler,Future Gohan,Bardock than I'd have with anniversary units. Hell Cooler alone beats them all for me.

Even then, I still don’t enjoy running GoBros because I don’t think they’re very fun and kind of stick out on their teams.
The card needs some ki links and I get they’re made for longer events, but still.

I run EZA Goten and Exchange Goku on Kamehameha, and I have trouble getting their 12 Ki sometimes.

Really the only difference between top and low tier is how fast or well they can clear events. But if they can still reliably clear events, does it really matter who you use?

That's the only reason I'm not as mad about not getting Gogeta. I got Vegito, and they have the same leader skill so I'll just use a friend in the meantime if I want to use him

Exactly my point. I have 400 stones ready and I'll probably have even more when the 5th anniversary drops on global. If I'll don't get them I'll just buy them later. No reasons to be too afraid to not get them in my opinion and don't use some stones before the anniversary

Thats the backup plan for me on Global as well. I'm at about 650 right now. And in the process of summoning, you just get more coins. The coin shop is easily one of the best things in the game imo.

I am a broken man. I sank 300 stones trying to get the new Bardock, because he's my absolute favorite DB character, all for some garbage Android 17s and Gokus, while my friend who just got into the game did the summon 6 times and got 5 Bardocks.

Why buy more stones? It's not like there is a drought of stones. If you used all your stones before the 5th anniversary, you will still be able to get enough stones from the celebration to do 10+summons.
Everyone should save for the step-up banners, anyway. Every other banner is trash.

Everyone is saying don't summon for Android 13 but I've already summoned on his banner it has some good value to it and despite what anyone says about piccolo he's still pretty good

Really, I'm pretty sure the only thing people say about Piccolo is the fact that you can't really run his team since it's hard to find Piccolo friends. That and the fact that there're a handful of good Piccolo units, yet none of them can be run together (like the PHY EZA Piccolo, who gives 77% DEF to the rotation, not to mention all the other Piccolos who could EZA)

I will always remember last year around this time, when LR GG dropped, that I was incredibly focused on not spending any DS because I missed both 3 year LRs, and I was "losing value" each time I summoned because coins were going to be implemented on 4th ani.
I said screw it and did the discount rotation, and got 2 LR GGs on the rotation, that was my first LR ever. I still smile thinking about that day, and how I "saved 1k coins" by "wasting DS". I just go yolo and do whatever I want with my stones from that point on, been super happy with my account ever since then.

But if you get shafted after saving for months after 10+ multis you just want to quit the game

That is true, personally, I went 1550 stones deep on the movie Gogeta/Broly banner and I didn’t get any of the main units, I was devastated to the point where I almost quit the game.
Nevertheless, the more stones you spend, the less likely you’re to NOT pull the unit you want. Also, we can’t ignore the fact that some banners have better value than others, whether that being in discounted multis, 3+1, tickets per multi and the featureds (nobody wants SSJ4 Gogeta anymore lmao).
I'm never saying for anniversary banners ever again. 4th year was my breaking point. Imagine going 1000+ stones and not getting a featured units and tickets give you old units not the new ones.
