No. There's a piece protecting the mic so no one accidentally damages it.
that piece also protects the waterproofing?
It doesn't damage anything.
so if a puncture the thing it doesn't damage the mic nor the waterproofing?
All of that stuff is offset inside of the phone, you don't actually make contact with anything but empty space.
