Probably too much competence and integrity

24
shoutwire2007OP•

He manipulated whistleblower paperwork to start an impeachment inquiry, and then tried to hide it from congress. That doesn't suggest competence or integrity.

The impeachment inquiry was legitimate and successfully impeached Trump

And here's why The Federalist is fascist propaganda put together by Meghan McCain's plagiarist husband.

21
shoutwire2007OP•

They're propaganda just like Fox, CNN, and most other 'news' sites, but that doesn't mean they're lying. The facts of the case are that Atkinson manipulated whistleblower paperwork, and then tried to hide it from Congress.

any non-right-wing-wacko source for this? I did a google search and only the Federalist appears to be saying this.

well, and you. Who are claiming it at every opportunity without providing a source.

Edit: From Media Bias Factcheck:

Overall, we rate The Federalist a borderline Questionable and far Right Biased based on story selection and editorial positions that always favor the right. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to the promotion pseudoscience and three failed fact checks.

He stopped responding to me also when talking about sourcing and who the federalist is getting its funding from so I’ve tried to educate him on how the misinformation loop works today with the trump White House and the conservative base.

Or look and see how the right wing bubble of media disinformation works.

The president and his allies widely shared a story in conservative outlet The Federalist, which reported that a previous version of an intelligence community whistleblower form had included a paragraph stressing the importance of first-hand information in complaints transmitted from the inspector general to Congress.

Look see The federalist publishes something it gets to our president and spouted to his followers via twitter then other news sources run with it and we have created a version of truth that is a falsehood.

Oh and guess what Atkinson was appointed by Trump. That means trump beloved him to be best suited for the job and the form he changed was to make filing a whistleblower complaint easier.

It's a biased site, but then again, it's hard to find an unbiased site in the US. What's important is that it actually explains why Atkinson was fired, and it appears to be using facts.

If this article is wrong about Atkinson manipulating whistleblower paperwork, please show us the facts.

Why doesn’t the federalist please tell us who funds them? If there is nothing manipulative behind their journalism we should know how they are supported financially.

Yeah -- that's stupid and reiteration of the cover up argument made to hide/bury the complaint for a period of time until it ultimately came out. There was not a person who heard the call that did not know it was illegal. Good lord, there was not a person involved in the whole mess that did not know it was illegal -- did anyone testify that what went on was okay? Nope. The pitch for not impeaching Trump was that it was not a "bad enough" breach to remove him from office. Of course now -- we have an idiot in chief who successfully is managing to kill somewhere between 60,000 and 300,000 Americans (and possibly more -- wave 2 will hit in early Fall).

4
shoutwire2007OP•

If Trump was guilty, why would IG Atkinson manipulate the whistleblower paperwork and then try to stonewall congress? And why did he say he was fired for doing his job, when he was actually fired for breaking rules and secretly changing and backdating documents while doing his job?

1
drhunny•

If he was "breaking rules and secretly changing and backdating documents" he wouldn't have to be Saturday-night massacred by Trump. Bill Barr could have slapped him with an indictment. No indictment = no credible evidence of your claim that he was "breaking rules etc." And I bet when it comes to the question of "can you remove a senior federal official from office without absolute ironclad proof they broke the law" you come down on the side of "no". Amirite?

5
cargdad•

He didn’t. What he perhaps could be faulted for is not sooner standing up to a very obvious attempt to cover up for the President’s illegal action. He waited 3 extra weeks before submitting the complaint to the appropriate committees, because it was being “handled” internally (by that - it was an effort to cover up the illegal action.) So, the legitimate knock is that he did not say “FU” earlier and transmit the complaint as required.

Article is pure bunk. He didn't circumvent any of the process or mislead Congress. First hand knowledge isn't a requirement and hasn't been for a number of years.

Regardless, WH release of the memo confirmed the WB's account. =)

The Federalist? Downvote for you. Shit sources lead to shit opinions.

1
shoutwire2007OP•

I'm not saying that Michael Atkinson deserves or doesn't deserve to be fired. I just find it disturbing how many sites aren't presenting the facts in the leadup to the firing.

-17

Not kissing Trump's ass is the only fact that led to his firing.

18
shoutwire2007OP•

Atkinson literally manipulated whistleblower paperwork. It's relevant grounds for dismissal.

-2
theeddie23•

Let's say that were true. It is NOT the reason he was fired. Trump said why he fired him, it was for lack of loyality, not cause. That is the point, the rest is spin.
