It's my old man's birthday tomorrow and I followed this recipe for Steph's Black Forest Cake from the 10th season of the Great British Bake Off. It was reasonably straightforward, if a little time consuming, and the ingredients were all pretty easy to come by (although I did raid his bar and substitute Kirsch with some Cognac). I'll add another photo after we've cut out a slice or two tomorrow.
