Is anybody willing to look through my hand histories?

Help

Hey guys,

I've had a really tough few days of play, and it feels like I'm playing well but just falling victim to bad beats, but to be honest I'm new to the game and if anybody can spare the time I'd love it if someone could take a look at my hand history and point out the glaring issues. I understand that it can be an in depth process, but if you've got some time on your hands and you're willing to show a beginner the ropes, I'd really appreciate it.

Are they from cash games? If you want to post some hands here I'd be happy to take a look and get back to you tomorrow

Yeah they’re cash games, I’ll post today’s hands after the 24 hour timer from ignition expires

I.e. this time tomorrow

Here is a pastebin with the replays. They're split(day one and day 2) with a replay link for each hand. If you have software to replay hands in bulk, I also posted the raw logs from ignition below the premade links. Thanks for taking a look.

Sweet - I'll have a look through later and get back to you

I can hop on discord if you want to talk it through as opposed to typing out a big response

Hey - if you're free in the next couple of hours, I'd be happy to chat about some of these hands. Just let me know

I can look through them if you want. It’ll be a good learning experience for me.

Sure, I’ll reply tomorrow after the timer expires for today’s hand history

Alright, I've got the first 25 hands for you:

  1. The check pre is good. Why are you betting the flop? You're folding everything worse and getting called by everything better.
  2. 3-bet sizing is great. Easy call post flop.
  3. You can't limp this hand. A5o is too weak to play post flop without the betting lead. Raise and take it down pre or fold.
  4. The pre flop raise sizing is great, and the c-bet is good- I'm giving up after the flop. Save double barreling for the hands which have at least some equity. When you hit the king on the river, you're on the hook to at least bet it. The raise is a crappy spot. To just flat twice his range is TT, maybe QQ, KK, and AA (may 3-bet pre), one jack, and slowplayed monsters. What part of that range is he raising? Just the slowplayed monsters. People don't raise river nearly enough. You could probably find a painful fold.
  5. I don't hate a defend here. Your fold is fine.
  6. This is played perfectly.
  7. Your limp is fine, but a raise is probably better. Good check back on the flop. Why are you bluffing the turn? Nothing better is folding, and everything worse is.
  8. You can fold this pre, but the call is probably fine. The rest of this hand is standard. Great price all the way down.
  9. I like the way you played this. EP ranges are going to be very tight. It seems too wimpy to fold, but a 3-bet is suicidal. Folding to the 4-bet and 5-bet jam is standard but painful.
  10. Attacking these limpers is fine if they are going to overfold. The c-bet is good.
  11. The call pre is good. I'm check folding this 5-ways. Maybe I'm a wimp. Maybe the real men go for value.
  12. The defend is fine. Your post flop action in general seems spewy.

My general observation is that your play overall is solid, but you seem to make post flop bluffs in spots where no one can call you with worse or fold better. You triple barrel without equity.

This numbering is wrong. The hands I actually wrote about in order are 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 17, 22, 25.

The checks around the board made me confident that they hadn't hit anything. I had 2 outs, and I didn't want to let a flush draw limp along or a high card to come on the river. I assumed that my equity would basically never improve here, and rather than risk a losing showdown I'd rather just take down the pot. That was my thought process at least.

My general observation is that your play overall is solid, but you seem to make post flop bluffs in spots where no one can call you with worse or fold better. You triple barrel without equity.

I think this is fair- I tend to try and put out feeler bets that will either take down the pot or tell me what I'm up against, and often times I can take down boards that miss 3 bet ranges. I think that there are certainly times where I should just eat it and fold the hand though.

I really appreciate the time you put in- like I said before I'd love to hop on discord and discuss a few of the hands, mainly my biggest losses for the session and talk through exactly what went wrong where. With that being said, I know you put a ton of time in looking through this stuff, and I'm sure you'd rather be playing than coaching pro bono.

In any case, thanks so much for the pointers.

Do you have a tracker of any kind? I feel getting people to look through raw ignition hh files is going to be a tough sell.

Idk what you mean by a tracker, but I’ll be sending a list of preview links to make it less painful than just skimming a text document
