Moving to Petaluma (crosspost from r/sanfrancisco)

Hi all, I'm moving to the Bay Area for a job in Petaluma. I'm looking at Petaluma, Rohnert Park, and Cotati for living. The rates for a 1br seem to be about $850 to $950, is this decent for the area? Anywhere else I may have overlooked? Any tips for a newbie to the area? I'm moving from Center City Philadelph
