Thank you for giving us the chance to experience this game one last time. I'm going to miss it terribly, just as I did before. I wish you all well going forward. Thank you for making me feel like a kid again.
I will say this as many times as i can Thank you for giving us the greatest gift ever, the gift of remembrance This creation brought back so many memories to countless people including me, this shouldn't have happened this was a fan project with 0 monetization or profit You people did this just out of kindness and as a passion project
CN made a horrible mistake because they dont care for the game at all it has been abandoned for years only only for them to care for it now, The Fusion fall retro team didnt violate any fair use laws because there was no money gain,
I along with the entire fandom of fusionfall are extremely disappointed and upset at cartoon network

Damn this is upsetting... I’m really at a loss for words. I know it was a stupid online game but it brought back soo many memories from the god ol’ days you know? I know CN had the right to take it down but still. They could at lest have taken it over and continued to give content to those who are adults now but still have a soft spot for fusionfall. Well I’ll i can say now is thank you to everyone who made this second chance even possible, even if for a little while, form the bottom of my heart.. thank you!!
They only have the right in the legal sense of the word. Morally, they had no right to take down a fan made project that had countless of hours of work, and made hundreds of people happy, when it literally takes ZERO profit away from them.
They're just being a terrible company for the sake of it.
For real tho, CN just lost a lifetime viewer.

Damn...fuck you 2020. My fault for taking my time, but I had just gotten to lvl 36 for the first time in my life and now it's just gone. All there is now to say is Thank you from the bottom of my hearts to the devs and all their hard work. Living my childhood again brought me so much joy and I will forever cherish it.

I didn’t even get to the level i was in the original game. In the original i only got to level 12 because i just wasn’t able to play much then because if not having my own computer.
This time i was only lvl 8 because now that im an adult life got in the way and wasnt able to play that much. But i was going to be able to play more due to quarantine but it looks like i cant now.
This was definitely one if my favorite games and i hope one day by some miracle that we’ll be able to play it again.
So apparently the game was taken down because someone reported false information to CN. I think the devs have the right to defend themselves. The game just kept getting better and more fun. It wasn't a place of nostalgia anymore, I actually invested my time in it. I don't want to lose hope and I encourage the devs to not lose hope as well. We can resolve this as a community!
I have to agree with you, although I'm no optimist so I can only really hope the best situation is that they manage to retool what they've got into a new property. Also, happy cake day!

Legally speaking the devs have nothing to stand on. The game is using CN's assets and IPs so it was completely in their right to shut it down. Too bad a single asshat could cause so much damage.
Don't the devs have fair use though? No money or profit was being made in any way shape or form and the devs did not claim the material as theirs... can't they cite fair use?

TBH, this sounds more about control because there is no need to really defend the IP. Nothing derogatory is being done, the devs are not profiting... this is a innocent project that would only get bad PR and upset the community if shut down. This literally accomplishes nothing.
Fair use only protects very specific cases like reviews. The site and server definitely don't fall under it. You are correct that they don't need to defend the IP. We're a small community so the negative PR they gain from this is minimal. CN are just dicks.
Also it's completely possible that the team that issued the C&D didn't know about the game until Inges messaged them.

The sites and such that make reviews also profit by people reading them and then showing ads. They shouldn't be protected under fair use, as they are profiting off of copyrighted material.
The fact that Retro was shutdown for "copyright" might also bleed into other communities, such as the TTR community or Pirates community. The rest of the CN consumers might hear about it as well.
Honestly, this decision is a waste of time. The only valid argument is "copyright" since this doesn't make sense from a market (no profits to be made or protect, this will upset the consumer base too) and PR ("Cartoon Network Shuts Down Innocent Fan Creation", I've seen replies of people on this subreddit who are no longer going to watch anything related to Hanna-Barbara because of this) perspective.
I think that, because of the weakness in the reasoning they provided and how this is just bad for CN, it could be possible to free Retro by smashing the "copyright" argument and showing why this is all-around bad for CN.

Yup. Everything is gone. They were falsely reported so the C&D is in regard to anything Fusionfall related.

On Przzy's discord server. A C&D is a cease and desist. You can put two and two together that having to cease and desist is a guaranteed sign that they can no longer work on anything associated with the project

basically a member of the community was displeased with the things the devs were doing with the game (not adding stuff he wanted) so took it upon himself to get the project shutdown in hopes of getting someone else to take over and having them listen to him.
but now that CN has DMCA'd the project, that means they claim it as their own intellectual property meaning now nobody can recreate fusionfall or use its assets in any form

Wow. I was just getting back into it too. I played this game back in 2009 and playing it again 10 years later really gave me a rush of nostalgia. What a shame! Thank you for giving it your best shot. You really did go above and beyond!
