The white house's plan puts literally zero responsibility on the federal government to keep its people safe and instead puts it on employers and state's governments.

Much respect, and I see your points, but with how much the current administration fumbles and bumbles, I want them as far away from decisions that affect me as possible! :)
I honestly don't think I can face anyone from a foreign nation
Good thing we're under "stay at home."
This is why Walz needs to keep our state safe-at-home. It’s so obvious that Trump wants people here to get infected. We can not open our businesses with mass outbreaks just across state lines in SD and IA; not to mention we haven’t hit our peak yet. At this point I don’t want to leave the house for anything and if you knew me and how I live for travelling, you’d realize what an effect this has had.
Trump is showing that he will do anything to win re-election because he knows with this mess he’s going to prison. And if happens to Trump then it leads to Pence who’ll be put away also. And if Pence goes, Birx goes, McConnell goes, Sarah Sanders who I’m sure kept Trumps lies under wraps needs to go, and so does Jared. All these people were complicit with Trump’s crimes that eventually brought us here. Hopefully 30 years in prison will be worth those cushy jobs in that administration.
Couple days ago everyone was saying “leave it up to the governors!”
That was before that was Trump's position tho
The right to police the population is left to the states, so the only people who can enforce or lift quarantines are the governors and legislatures of the various states. It's called federalism, you should look into it when you're done being disappointed by things you don't understand.
Yeah. What's appropriate for New York is not going to (necessarily) be what's appropriate for Worthington. Federalism was made for situations exactly like this.
How can the White House role something out like that though?
I don’t think Minnesota should be treated the same as New York/Michigan and I don’t think some small town north of Minneapolis should be treated the same as Minneapolis.
It should be treated as locally as possible and then the bigger it gets, the bigger governmentally forces get involved.

I should be left to the states to some degree. State government has a better handle on what is happening at their level.
Sounds like you need to take a break from Reddit. Go take a mental health day, clear your head and get better. You’re letting too much social media bullshit get to you.
What do you think about Trump advocating for armed insurrection today? What did he mean by “liberate”? Why did he say 2nd Amendment rights were being threatened? How the hell does any of that help the current situation?
It doesn't. But neither does your overreaction to his tweets which everyone should know by now are dilute of nuance shouldn't be taken seriously.
Why did he say 2nd Amendment rights were being threatened?
They were in some states.
I know that he's just a fraud and a conman and an idiot, but a hell of a lot of your fellow fan club members follow his tweets religiously. So what did his tweets mean? And how specifically are anyone's RTBA being threatened?
So what did his tweets mean?
No one knows and anyone who prescribes meaning is a lier. It's literally just screaming at the sun.
And how specifically are anyone's RTBA being threatened?
Anytime a region closed gun stores. As Americans we have the right to protect ourselves and property and having access to guns is part of that.
Well, as for Virginia, their governor has attempted to ban guns, an attack on the second amendment, so that comment is true and understandable.
Where did he advocate for armed insurrection?! I’m looking forward to the source on this one!
Liberate.... we’ll, obviously Trump used inflammatory language, often intentionally, but pretty sure he’s just supporting people wanting to open up state economies. And while I understand the fears and hope we do it the right way and when the time is appropriate, we also can’t sit on our asses and freak out the moment we try and open up.
I’m not a trump supporter, despite what you likely assumed. I just try and be objective, something this sub and this site has utterly lost.
Please give the specifics of how the VA governor “banned guns.”
I interpret his tweets calling for the “liberation” of MN, MI, and VA (specifically VA, where he also said 2A rights were being threatened) as a call for insurrection. That’s my source. Do you want me to link to some right wing and white nationalist sites that agree with that interpretation?
I trust the medical experts far more than I trust any politician, particularly Donald Trump. They say to keep things locked down until we can get a comprehensive testing program. Do you trust the experts, or do you trust Trump, his billionaire cabinet members, and FOX News?
Whatever your personal thoughts are on gun control, straight up banning guns, to a lot of people, is unconstitutional and an attack on their rights.
So your own personal, completely biased, hate fueled interpretation of Trumps tweet is the end all determining factor of its meaning? Sounds stupid.
Again, I agree the tweets were stupid, but taking them in the most extreme, stupid way possible is just as dumb. The tweets were directed at democrat run states, liberating them is likely about voting republican to liberate from the democrats and/or opening up the states from closer. Again, dumb, but not calling for insurrection in any way.
The fact that’s where you went with this proves my initial point. Get the hell off Reddit and clear your mind. You need a mental health break my man, Reddit is a cancerous cesspool of political BS.

The POTUS wants to play the victim... responsibility doesn't factor into that.
