Of the three this was the most expensive. It was also the worst. It has floating clouds in it... enough said (its not a nigori). The sake manufacture date is fine, so its either suffered trauma while in the bottle or something fundamental has gone wrong. Relegated to cooking.
YAMATOGAWA YAUEMON JUNMAI GINJYO (Middle Bottle)
A competent but otherwise generic junmai at a good price point for what it is (where I bought it anyway).
The best of the set and good value for money (middle price of the set) “Special Water” would not tempt me away from “Drunken Whale” or “Southern Beauty” sake but its certainly a sake I would be very happy to share with friends (as long as I was the one who got to drink the most of it).
