Homefront The Revolution- "undiscovered easter egg" Discussion
Post your ideas, theories, and testing in the comments. I'll post updates throughout the day and week.
What we know:
-
There's an Easter egg that has the first two levels of Timesplitters 2 playable within the game. Siberia and Chicago
-
While booting up Timesplitters 2 from the arcade machine, this screen pops up with five names that help with the port
-
Dataminers found Timesplitters 2 files within Homefront The Revolution game files. These found files are assets and resources completely redone from the ground up.
-
Recently a confirmed Developer of Homefront The Revolution (identity remains anonymous) contacted Oddheader and "The Easter Egg Hunter" James saying "there's something in the game waiting to be found."
-
Oddheader also said to be "winking" as releasing this info, alluding that the info is relevant to Timesplitters 2.
-
The Anonymous Developer didn't have too much to say regarding the Easter Egg other than its existence.
-
I contacted one of the five on Twitter, Mark Tully. He responded with a link to the location of the arcade machine and a winking face.
-
I contacted another one from the five on Twitter, Matt Phillips. He replied saying he's under a NDA and unfortunately can't elaborate.
Rumors/Theories:
-
Could be an official unlock to the full game of Timesplitters 2 with all of its campaign levels, characters and arcade modes.
-
Could be a wild goose chase to rile up a community without any answers but to build hype around BOTH series.
-
It may have nothing to do with Timesplitters 2 itself but the series entirely. A time crystal is in the main game.
-
The "Anonymous Developer" is one of the five that worked on the port.
-
There's possible legal repercussions with this easter egg hence why there's anonymity.
