McDonald's only gave me 3 BBQ sauces for my 20 piece chicken nuggets so now I have to ration them.

The solution? McHack I learned while working there a while back:
And then our sauce policy:
Additionally, policy was to give one extra sauce beyond the standard upon request, anything above the extra sauce would be $.10 . Of course, I personally never gave a fuck, and just gave out handfuls if people asked for it.
tl;dr- 5 separate 4pc boxes would have saved you $1.69 and gotten you two extra sauces, or potentially more.
whoa, you just blew my mind.
Things might be different now. Last night I got 20 pieces for $5 and 4 sauce packets.
I wouldn't be too surprised, because franchise owners are allowed to set their own prices and that can easily vary with region. My numbers will be off compared to, say, airports or amusement park McDonald's.
This data has been my experience at most (all?) Western New York McDonald's, particularly the one I worked at.
Is there a subreddit with restaurant hacks like this?
r/frugal is probably the closest (decently-populated) sub you'll find like this, tons of unknown discounts or ways to save cash.
and of course, there could very well exist others that I don't know about.
5/5 for being semi-helpful

I might be wrong, but I'm fairly certain you can't get 4 chicken nuggets for $1
Dollar Menu. And the profit margin on the 4/$1 is much lower than other items, which explains the steep increase in the larger sizes.
But its capitalism, and since BK and Wendy's have Nuggets for a buck, $1 seems to be the magic number for keeping things at. Increasing that by only a few cents results in a much more unfavorable response in lost sales than is made up for by some extra cash per order.
Every time I wanted chicken nuggets I recall being disappointed that they weren't on the dollar menu. Either it's a local thing or maybe I fail at reading.
Actually pricing depends where you are none of the mcdonalds around us have the 4 piece anymore and the one across has a family 50 pack with frys and what not but they give you 6 for 50 I say frack mcdonalds the jackholes.
God damn Obama, the founding fathers never would have let this happen, they would be turning over in there graves
omg i really want nuggets now. im going to get some tomorrow
I got nuggets and they gave me 5 BBQ sauces but .......
they were cold..... fml
Have an upvote for the follow-through!

As a former part time McDonalds employee I can tell you that this is pretty much standard. You can ask for more, but they'll charge you.
Unless you are in Europe then they will charge your happy ass for the ketchup too. Assholes.
LOS COMMIES!
No, it's called cheap capitalisties, trying to make a cent more on every buck, or whatever. But frankly, I don't care. :)
i disagree. it's not that they're trying to make money off of it (10 cent sauces isn't exactly a booming market). they're trying to stop people from having an incentive to horde sauces. It's why they switched to that shitty napkin dispenser where you can only pull one napkin at a time. It's frustrating so you stop at 3 or so. But if it's the old school kind of napkin dispenser, you can grab a stack of 50 with ease and you probably won't even use more than 4.
I see. But still, this isn't communism.
Communism would be that the manager eats all the bbq sauce and they tell you at the counter that they can't give you any, because they're out of sauce. And pretty much everything else.
Use a blender.
Ration the McNuggets, or ration fastfood?
CircleJerk wasn't enough for you vapid people eh? RES to the rescue....and block firstworldproblems. Done.
And then as you get nearer to the end of the meal, you tragically realize that you over-rationed, and have plenty of sauce left. The knowledge that you could have dipped the earlier nuggets deeper into the sauces is enough to make you sick to your stomach.
Then you use extra on the last couple just to use all of the sauce.
But you realize you're just being counter-productive; it's too much sauce and you're ruining the nugget's flavor.
No amount of extra sauce will ever make up for their under-sauced brethren.
Exactly. Then I just leave disappointed, like always.
wait 6 hours, go order more
I'm pretty sure eating McDonald's is why you're sick to your stomach.
