yeah i saw a few “orange cones” on the street while looking for parking and I just had my finance toss it on the sidewalk and parked.
cant be reserving space on a public side walk
Yep. These flyers were sitting under a pile of white cones on the doorstep of a mansion
When people do wrong for so long it becomes their right in their mind. To them person who move cone is jerk but really they are jerk putting out cones or other object.
Does anyone actually look at NextDoor or is that an ad for it?
I had it for about a week and promptly deleted it. What a cesspool of cranky people.
Good question not sure
Park your car on top of the cones. Seems...smarter, more beneficial, and the cones clean the grease and grime from underside of car.
Thank you! One of my neighbors had orange cones in front of their home all weekend long to block the parking space, and it seemed really rude.
There are also two homes on my street with no parking signs due to construction, but they both expired back in March, were left up, and people don’t seem to be reading the signs to realize you can park there.
You have a note for the inconsiderate jerks who take up two spaces...? I’d keep a few with me to windshield wipe ...
People can put out flyers on cars or orange cones, but it won't do anything. They just get tired of people parking on their street and walking down to wherever they are going, like the beach, the park, or whatever. Nobody can reserve a space for anyone. It just won't happen.
They reserve the space just like the poster below mentioned. They take a scooter or motorcycle and park in the middle of a space that fits their vehicle for the entire day. It's extraordinarily annoying, when you see this and have to drive 20-30 minutes looking for a space.
I had a neighbor who used to reserve his personal parking spot (not in front of his own home) with a scooter. For years he would block this entire spot with a scooter when there were tons of tiny spots suitable for a scooter. One day another neighbor moved his scooter to a spot a driveway away and then parked their own car in the "reserved" spot. A war ensued.
There is no war as embittered, obsessive and and entrenched as a longstanding neighborwar feud.
I am low key obsessed with neighborwars, from Larry Elison vs his neighbor's tree to the ones that routinely pop up in r/bestoflegaladvice. Lots of tree law, retaining wall drama, property line fights, parking debates, noise kerfuffles and, lord help us, egress & right of way arguments.
And then?? Neighbor disputes are the best drama.
Police called, owner tried to say the other neighbor stole his vehicle even though it was right there still. Later on vandalism, one neighbor trying to sell the other neighbors vehicle on Craigslist. Finally the other neighbor bought a scooter of his own and parked it next to the original scooter so neither could park there. More vandalism. I was all for the guy who ruined the original guys “reserved” parking space but in the end there were always just scooters there and one less spot for a car on the block which kind of sucked but at least the entitled guy lost his control over the public resource.
Wild. Thank you for giving me closure.
