There's a great swedish series called 'don't ever wipe tears without gloves'
I'd also recommend blue by Derek jarman. The living end by Greg araki is great, a sort of queer indie Thelma and louise. Tongues untied by Marlon riggs offers a black perspective on the issue. Theo and hugo is a french film that is a bit lighter than the others.
