How I rooted my S9+ (Exynos) [How to root Android 10]
Hi guys!
After so many times wondering, I decided to root and flash custom from. Mostly because I wanted to improve the battery life (which I'm not sure yet If it's actually better), but was afraid of the stability of the custom ROMs. But since I started to have software issues on the stock Samsung rom... I decided, what the hell, why not to root tho.
We already have a few posts - I flashed One UI 2.1, ask me anything! so tprobably they explained it here and there. I used to be an "advanced user" in the past but didn't root from years and etc so I feel like a beginner again. But if you have any questions, regarding the topic feel free to ask, If I can I will answer. Also, keep in mind this procedure is risky and I'm not responsible if you brick your device, and the most important is I probably won't be able to help you fix it. Just my experience how I rooted my phone in a few steps. You should know also, this procedure will avoid your warranty and trip Knox forever. No turning back after this.
- Press a tick on OEM Unlock, under developer settings (the phone will reboot and format your data)
- Download the TWRP recovery for your model (S9 orS9+), the .tar file
- Flash the TWRP recovery through Odin (in AP section)
- Do not let the phone boot. Right after the screen turns off, hold Volume Up, Bixby, and Power Button (release the power button after around 3 sec when u see the Samsung and Knox logo )to enter the freshly installed recovery.
- After boot in the recovery, pick Wipe, Format Data - Yes, and then davlik art cache and cache
- Flash Magisk and Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020
- Reboot (wait few mins to boot, mine needed around 2-3 min I think)
Your phone should be able to boot now. Also, don't forget to do a backup on your IMEI, after your phone boot. In case something goes wrong while you try to flash custom ROMs. If it breaks, you will lose the network and won't be able to make calls and etc. To do a backup, use the IMEI app that is recommended in the first post - IMEI_Tool_N8S8_XDA_1.2.
But before that, I'm not really sure, but probably is for the best to remove your Samsung account and Google ones.
And here is one video on YouTube, which isn't mine, and the author rooting Android 9 Pie (idk why... lol) but the procedure is the same. Just read what I said and watch the video.
