Do therapists like patients who are interested in psychology or find them annoying?

So I read a lot of psychology (all theory-oriented, not clinical), both for fun and for my studies (I’m in cognitive literary studies), and in therapy I’ll sometimes go off on tangents when something my therapist says reminds me of something I read, or I’ll ask general questions about psychology that are only somewhat relevant to my issues. Is this annoying? (To be clear, I never try and tell my therapist how to do his job, and I’m completely aware that he knows a lot more than I do about these things. It’s just that as it’s one of my academic interests it can be really fun to talk to someone who knows more about it than me.)
