[R&D] M/39 and The M/30 rv

The M/39 (Joachim Nuori-Molva) is the decided standard rifle that has been cracking the heads of both The White Guard and The Army, in the end we have decided to go with the White Guard proposal for a unique Finnish Mosin, as such we have make a new mosin.

This ¨New Mosin¨ is looseley based on the old M/30, some notables changes are:

New heavier rifle stock with grip-area. This heavy stock makes the M/39 one of the heaviest bolt-action rifles introduced in the decade.

Metal rings used in M/39 are new design, which makes dismantling and assembling the whole rifle easier.

Sling attachment uses loops, while in earlier Mosin-Nagant rifles had slots in rifle stock for this.

Rifle barrel is the same diameter as in M/91 rifles but shorter (in other words not thick as in Civil Guard rifles M/28 and M/28-30).

Inside measurements of barrel are not as tight as with M/28-30 (to make using of captured ammunition with thicker bullets unproblematic).

Cartridge chamber has been designed for 13-gram/230-gr D-166 bullet (standard bullet of Finnish Armed Forces starting 1936).

Sensitivity spring (mouse-trap spring) is left out from trigger mechanism.

Production will begin next month and the first order is of 20,000 rifles.

After a stockpile has formed of these rifles, the sniper project will begin

M/30 rv (an upgrade of the M/27rv)

The sling arrangement was modified to be similar in style as in Mauser M/98a rifles, which Finnish cavalry had used earlier. Because of this, front parts of rifle stock had to be redesigned and a new barrel, which is only 520-mm long.

This new rifle is done to improve the rear-sight of the old M/27 rv, it also adds a jam-free magazine, other changes are the introduction of a newscape and a sling common from White Guard rifles.

Production is to begin inmediatly and the first order is of 5,000 thousand rifles for the Recon Detachments.
