Stimulus Check
Did anyone else get a stimulus check for their spouse? My husband has been gone for 23 months and my stimulus check included him. Anyone else?

I received Stimulus for Jim. He died 23 March, 2019. Last year I filed Married, Filing Jointly, so H&R Block said that indeed, I get his stimulus. I just called the local office here to verify.
*edit, clarification.
My husband died two days before they were issued and ours were direct deposited into our checking account. A friend did research and told me that I would be able to keep it. I figured I would and deal with it later if they want it back.
My wife passed just recently and I have no idea if she will still get hers. She passed after I received mine so I thought maybe? Obviously the cash would be nice but I’m not counting on it
I got one for my wife. I have no idea what to do with it. The money would be nice to have...
Mines in my name and there is no way to cash half a check. In 2019 I filed jointly because I was legally required to report his 2018 income. Haven’t filed yet this year.
A few here did. I didn't. I only got it for myself. Not even my two children.
I did. I put part of it in savings, just in case. Then I needed it for the deductible when the house had damage. Everyone says we don't have to give it back.
I received a direct deposit on April 15 for the both of us. It was based on our 2018 tax return. Bruce died April 2, 2019.
I have read several stories that his portion should be returned. And the IRS Economic Impact Payment Information Center says it should. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payment-information-center#more
But I'm wondering if I should just wait for an official notification. It seems to me that if they made mistakes sending the payments out, who knows what would happen if it is returned.
I got my husband's. I intend to keep it until I receive some notice that I must return it. Historically this has happened before and the IRS has never demanded repayment. I don't believe they will take it back but I am not spending it yet either.
