SIB Ace Attorney Trilogy for my wife?

[Switch] :switch:

The question is as above. But I'll give some specifics, and ask some questions that may help me decide if she'd like it.

She's not a gamer, really, so games with complex controls turn her off of it. Are the controls and gameplay loop complicated?

She's expressed interest in games regarding primarily making decisions on how people interact and how things play out, so would this fit that?

A few games she's/we've played some that she enjoyed: Animal Crossing (she now feels aimless in it though, and misses the goals it had when starting out), Harvest Moon 64 (obviously likes this genre, but on Switch Story of Seasons doesn't come out until this summer), Oxenfree (spookiness wasn't her favorite, but she did like it), Becoming Human (tried to play out every scenario for each scene and got disinterested, will try to pick up again soon), Stardew Valley (she needed more tutorials to get going than the game had, so she never got into it).

If there are other games you'd recommend we look at, please let me know!

We can play on PC, Switch, PS4.

The Ace Attorneys were games I enjoyed very much, but they are more of a logic/puzzle game than farm or life sim game. You play as the titular attorney and are given 'cases,' for which you go to locations and collect evidence and information. Then you go to court and listen to the witnesses, and using the evidence you've gathered, interject during contradictions and provide evidence proving otherwise. The gameplay mechanics are pretty simple iirc, I haven't played in a long time, but it is not meant to be a dexterity-based game.

If this type of logic/puzzle game sounds interesting to your wife, I'd suggest she also check out the Professor Layton series as well, if it's on the Switch store (I played these on the 3DS)

Thank you that helps a lot! I think she would be interested in these games!

if she enjoys the series, there are a lot of other DS puzzle games that she might like such as the zero escape series, hotel dusk, or ghost trick. The zero escape series is available on steam, not sure if the others have ever been ported.

Ace Attorney trilogy is an awesome game. Judging by what you said in your post and in the comments, I think your wife would love the game. The game does a great job at teaching you how to play, and the controls are very easy to understand. The characters are also great, and the game overall has such a wacky sense of humor that makes it very unique. I would 100% recommend it!

I seriously just loved the wonky characters. It's one of the few games that made me laugh out loud. Well worth it if you want a game to make you laugh
