Neighbor cut their tree down, and left it on my property. Who pays to take it away?
I own a few acres of vacant land. A neighbor (neighbor 1) cut down a mature tree that was completely on their property but left the tree completely on my land. Another neighbor (neighbor 2) has a legal easement on my property and wants me to pay to have the tree cut up and taken away so they can access their legal easement. As I understand, if this tree fell onto my land feel due to natural causes, my insurance would cover the cost. But this tree was intentionally cut— so who is responsible? This is in NY. Thanks in advance!
