I was so happy when I unlocked that. I went from 60 smithing skill to 200+ and made hundreds of thousands of denars in like a week of frenzied smithing. As someone in this sub said before, getting lucky and unlocking the right high tier components is essentially getting a license to print money. I could lose all my other sources of income and be completely fine.
Yes, it's absolutely ludicrous. Each one of these polearms sells for 63k, requiring only 2 steel, 1 hardwood, and one coal. The hardest part for me is finding cities that can buy them up without me buying up every commodity they own.
As much as I like being obscenely rich now, they might want to put a cap on or decrease the value of high tier crafted weapons. It's pretty broken when the one item you're selling is worth more then or manages to sell for 80% of the total amount of gold in the towns.
Yup. You can sell 100k+ Javelins for literally their entire stock plus all the money.
I hope they make smithing unlocks and progression more logical and rewarding. Atm I have no incentive to smith diffferent weapons, just max out the smithing difficulty to craft the hardest item and rake in the levels and money
Yeah, also the unlocks are super random. It would be nice if the things you unlocked were either similar tier to what you're making, or like for the same weapon. I learned to make OP Javelins by making the same 2h sword over and over.

In my most recent playthrough, I decided to forbid myself from using free money cheats, also no selling smithed weapons, which is basically the same thing. I can turn 4 pieces of steel into 112k denars. It's more than a bit broken.
The beat thing is the free xp for your companions they just need to create one of those beauties and they max smithing providing xp
It's so nice to be able to get that smith xp for a companion or spouse and use the focus point to free them from xp lock in riding or bows or whatever.
Soooooo nice when you get that early T4 unlock
will be trying these since javelins are starting to no longer give much, ty OP
Wait how does this work?
The skill gain is tied to the cost of the created crafted item, I unlocked the war-razor head by chance early on and this happened.
Rhagin gained 52 skill points in Smithing and is now 75.
