Going all the way back to when Binge On first became a thing, it was only available on plans with 6 gigs or more. (maybe I'm misremembering and it was 3 gigs or more, but it was never available on base data plans)
The Walmart $30 5GB plan had it even though it was not advertised.
The floor must have been three gigs then.
Basically it was available on any plan where you paid for more data. So depending on the base plan, it could be 3gb/6gb whatever, as long as it wasn't the free data level.
yea I was just going off the couple people here saying it was whitelisting data for them
I think you basically needed a paid data feature.
BingeOn has 2 separate concepts to it:
Plans 3GB or more don't have video streaming from certain providers count against your data bucket. This was grandfathered a few years ago.
Reduces streaming quality to 480p. If you have BingeOn enabled, this is most likely what it's doing.
The idea was from another post on here couple weeks ago how for the Connect plans (2GB, 5GB) there IS zero rated video streaming.
Except that was incorrect it seems.
Yes, it seems it was incorrect, and there was not any post to correct it that I saw. Thank you for setting the record straight.
Did you not read point one of the comment you replied to?
did you not read my comment at all?
Yes...in it you tell a person that you heard the 2GB plan includes zero rating...after he told you that zero rating only happens on plans 3GB or higher.

I warned folks they would fix the glitch. And got downvoted for it.
The AT&T plan was better because it had unlimited 2G, but that’s not discontinued for new people too.
If you are curious this was rushed out by Sivert and the plan team had to use Simple Choice plan SOCs to meet the deadline. That’s why it worked.
There was no way T-Mobile was going to let people watch unlimited TV for $15 that isn’t T-Vision. Sprint tablet plans are probably next.
Thanks for confirming they did... fix the glitch.
Yeah, I found this out a few months ago. I don't know what exactly changed, but I did not have unlimited streaming from the sites I thought I did.
Did you notice if YouTube counts against your data now?
I have an old 4GB Simple Choice that doesn't zero-rate video data either. They only reserved it for higher data tiers from the beginning.
It wouldn't be surprising, since whitelisting was never supposed to be included in the first place. That went out years ago with Simple Choice.
Yea this sucks cause that's basically why we setup the line. But whatever. At least give us unlimited 2G access....
Yeah, it does suck. But considering the next closest plan (not including the 5GB Connect plan) is Essentials at $60/month plus taxes and fees, it's a reasonable trade off.
If you're looking for more data but want to keep costs down, you can check out various MVNOs that use the T-Mobile network, or move up to the 5GB Connect plan. If you're over 55 (or have someone who is over 55 that is willing to set up a plan for you), you could get Magenta Unlimited 55. It's more money, but is still considerably cheaper than standard pricing.

The Simply Prepaid 10gb plan isn’t a bad option either for $40.
I thought the data was hard capped?
it is. I wish it wasn't.
