Joe's comment yesterday does not exist in a vacuum. He has a long history of making racist statements. People who don't recognize this are part of the problem.

While he hasn’t said much directly and obviously racist he has made comments in the past that can only be viewed as a racist position.
Like when he suggested the reason black kids are struggling in education is because black parents don’t know how to parent.
This is setting aside the position of the democrat party generally that has had racist overtones since pre-civil war.
It’s no surprise people call him racist when there are summary articles like this:
