I wish more white celebrities and athletes would speak out like this. Proud of Max
Seems like more players are today, even if it’s not too many yet I am hoping the trend continues!
PR is important to them and most people wanna play it safe so I can see why they'd stay out of the spotlight (outside of Minnesota Wild players, one of them should probably at some point mention it, maybe the captain, JT Brown is an AHL guy now and doesn't really count).
What would Max Domi do to get a playoff series against Brendan Lemieux right now?

I was feeling those words and the Nike symbol at the end made me feel like a rube.
Why?
Comes off as more of a pr move than anything heartfelt when you stick a company logo at the end.
Also: sweatshops.
Their treatment of female runners in their Oregon Project was also pretty terrible.
Glad to see others have not fallen for it either.
TBH I like that he’s doing something, but I don’t like this. The words used feel very focused grouped and don’t cut deep enough, and the fact that it’s a Nike ad means the real sentiment behind it is to sell shoes.
I say fuck the police that's how I treat em
We buy our way out of jail but we can't buy freedom
Yeah... fuck the whole entire police because of one murder
And while we’re at it... every man on planet earth deserves to rot in hell because of the crimes of Jeffery Epstein and Harvey Weinstein.....
I hope you see where I’m going with this
one murder
That's all the words you get from me.
Yah I miss spoke there... it’s terrible what’s happening but it’s still a very low percentage of cops who behave this way
There are major systematic issues in the country with police and the lack of scrutiny they face. Strong police unions that allow officers with dozens of complains to stay on the force ("good" cops protecting bad cops). An extremely low rate of officers accused of murder and other crimes actually getting convicted. Fired officers that get new jobs with other police departments without issue. Militarization of police. No repercussions for civil lawsuits for things like excess force that simply result in a bill for taxpayers. And I haven't even talked about the race issues, that have been demonstrated with hard data across the country. Ex: chance of getting stopped while black vs while white.
It's really naive to believe that "it's a very low percentage of cops" who behave poorly. They don't always straight up murder people, but they often abuse their power.
Here are some cops arresting reporters.
Here is a cop shooting pepper (pellets?) at a reporter.
Here is a cop throwing a protester to the ground
And that was just today.
These are systematic issues.
Yes and it still paints a bad picture on all of them
And it shouldn’t ever happen, it’s completely ridiculous
And an extremely high percentage of cops who do nothing about that "low percentage"
Dont want to be that guy but its prob time to rethink this.
Also since many of the tensions are racially motivated its prob important to keep in mind cops that are good to non-poc can be bad to poc. So based on who you are, the majority isn't always "good" .
a very low percentage of cops who behave this way
If there's a police department where good cops don't turn in bad cops then there's no good cops in that department it's safe to say Minneapolis PD has zero good cops. The people are forced to defend themselves from the police.
A very low amount do these things but it doesn’t help at all that all of the “good cops” don’t do shit to stop them and they hardly ever have any real consequences for these sort of actions. If a cop stands idly by and lets these kind of things happen because they’re too afraid to speak up then they’re a shitty cop regardless of whether or not they’re the one actually doing it, because they’re allowing it to happen through their continued silence
Very nice.
Great that he’s speaking out. I hope more players do the same.
Fuck yeah Domi.

Long way from wearing Trump socks and musing about immigration.
Max has matured a lot, yeah. Glad to see it, too.
Hopefully he has.

Just a reminder that supporting a politician you don’t like and being against certain immigrations policies does not mean you have any animosity towards immigrants or people of colour. Should go unsaid but unfortunately in emotional times like this, you types seem to need reminding
A. Max Domi made comments about not wanting immigrants in Canada.
B. You don’t have to be racist to support Donald Trump, but you definitely are ok with racism which is fundamentally the same thing. This is a President thst calls neonnazis fine people, that has put immigrants in cages, banned refugees fleeing oppression and threatened to bring in the army to shoot protesters.
Just a reminder.

That's just not true.
Keep on reading the rest of the sentence.

Dumb take
That's not how it works...
Illegally crossing the boarder does not make you an immigrant, and people that break the law usually end up in jail
Again, there is a process for asylum as well...
I was going to write more words and a more measured response, but really, just fuck you for likening the treatment of people att those facilities to jail.
It's either incredibly misinformed, and of so, why even weigh in? Or it's just malicious.
Considering Trump's entire platform and administration has been run on aspects of racism and sexism, supporting that politician is absolutely an implicit support of those positions and policies.
No, supporting one politician does not mean you inherit every one of their beliefs. But if it makes up a large portion of their movement, then yes, it is a fair thing to assume.
Thank you! Can't believe the number of people falling over themselves to argue that Trump supporters are not necessarily racists. How fucking myopic do you need to be to even hold that thought for more than a wild second?
It sounds like you don't have a good understanding of those policies and their motivations.
This might make sense if he didn't have known white nationalist Stephen Miller on staff directing much of his immigration policy. You can't support a person who thinks white supremacists have good ideas that should be implemented nationally and still say "but I have nothing against people of color". It doesn't work that way.

If today, as we speak, you are a Trump supporter, then you are a racist and a bastard. You ARE guilty by association. There is no good Trump supporter. The very few reasonable people who supported this moron in the first place should've have jumped ship by now and if they haven't, then they're 100% complicit and certainly not reasonable anymore.
You’re insane, holy smokes
