Little rant about abortion documentary on national tv
Hi ladies,
So tonight there was a documentary about abortion on national television. Although I live in quite a liberal country, its still a very touchy subject. I had one myself and its been very hard.
The woman who made the movie had an abortion herself but is now a mom. She interviewed 3 brave women who told their story. This was very touching and relatable. But in between the interviews, they tried to make it 'edgy' or something, with snippets of legs, bellies and nipples. Also snippets of conception (under a microscope), baby feet and even an ultrasound. With audio snippets of a heartbeat and baby cries. This hit me so hard I started to cry and turned it off. It totally clashed with what the women were saying. How difficult the decision was etcetera.
To top it off, newspapers started reporting about it and one article triggered me so much. A MALE reporter saying how humanists should be against abortion, because all women do is ripping apart fetuses. I lost it. A damn male with ZERO knowledge judging whats happening in womens bodies. Ignorant piece of ***.
I'm sorry for this rant. I was just hoping this documentary would bring some more understanding about the subject, but its quite the opposite.
