Just bought a used ps4, wondering ifI got scammed

So, I recently decided to buy a new ps4 (for reasons I won't get into) and because the 5 is getting pretty close so I decided to get a used one. Now, when I got it the first thing I did was start to download all mygames and progress. And I was really baffled by the fact that this ps4 made NO NOISE. Like, I could drop a needle in that room and I would hear it. So after most my games were installed I decided to boot up far cry. Now, at this point I was wearing headphones and wouldn't be able to hear a loud ps4, so I couldn't tell the noise, but after about 3 hours of playing, the console just shut off. No message, no nothing. This was about 10 minutes ago, and I haven't been able to start the console since. When I feel the back of the console, I could boil an egg on that thing, so I'm wondering, did the son of a bitch that sold this to me remove the fan or something?
