If the Reverb G2 fails. Would the Rift S be ok, wait to save for an Index, or wait for a new HMD?
I've been wanting to get into VR, and the Reverb G2 looks like the best HMD to get into it. But with the G1's disastrous launch I'm concerned that if it's the same as before, then I'd need to look somewhere else. I've thought about the Rift S, but I don't like Facebook's practices, which is why I want the G2. I have an IPD of 70, which I know is a problem on the Rift S (and with the G2 an HP rep said the sweet-spot would be large enough for me to be OK) but if I'll be OK then I'll get that since I want to be in PCVR. I wouldn't want to use the Quest's standalone stuff as I'd only want to use Steam in case I buy a different HMD brand. But with Oculus ignoring the Rift S, you guys might recommend me something else. Or should I wait longer and work hard to save up for an Index? Or wait to see what Samsung's HMD might offer or what someone else might make? What do you guys think?
