I got kicked out of my band for dropping acid.

Hey guys, i just wanted to share an unfortunate story that i went through over the past few months with my former band. for the past 1/ and a half years i had the honor of drumming in my band that had a good 8k following on IG, got to play amazing shows and record lots of music with. it was all amazing and i was living the dream, until i found how close minded and ignorant my other two band mates were. i’m going to leave the band’s name out of context just because i don’t want any shit going back to them. but around february, i was in a really great point in my life and decided to drop my first tab and i had the most beautiful experience at the beach. i’ll give you a little context about my other bandmates. my guitarist only engaged in getting shitfaced every weekend and taking adderal for school every other day. and my bass player, i don’t think i’ve ever seen not high. did i have problem with their drug usage? not at all!! i smoked weed and drink on occasion as well, but once i told them i dropped acid at the beach, they looked at me liked a different person. i didn’t think they would have any problem with it. my bass player has openly said he’s done shrooms in the past and my guitarist just thought it was funny (for some reason?). anyways, after practice one day i tell them i dropped acid at the beach and was trying to tell them about my experience and not long after i could tell my guitarist wasn’t happy about it. just the look on his face, i could tell he was reconsidering having a drummer in his band that just fried his brain on acid. god forbid. the next day i asked when we’re going to practice this week, no response. i asked if he wanted to hang out, no response. i decide i should probably talk with him too see if there’s an issue so i reached out, no response. over the next week i’m sitting at home with nothing but regret and despair. “i just lost my band” “god i shouldn’t have done that” they made me feel so bad about myself. getting in my head making me think i’m some druggie. a week passes of me sitting at home in they both ask to meet me at my house and it seemed serious. good lord was i nervous. next thing i know i’m out of the band. this went down down late february, and i can gladly tell you guys i’m so much happier now. i realized who my true friends are. i realized those hypocritical scumbags that killed my ego were never my friends. i’ve been getting to meditation, surfing more, joined a new band, and have just been overall happier. my best friends/girlfriend and i had our first shroom experience together in Joshua Tree right before quarantine and we all just grew this amazing connection that i don’t have with anyone else. i just wanted to share my experience with hope in the future that psychedelic’s won’t be looked down so harsh upon. sorry for the long post, but i appreciate if you took the time to read my story :) mush love everyone.
