I don’t even know how to title this.
I posted this on r/toddlers just now but I think this is a more appropriate subreddit.
Not sure what I need. Advice? Solidarity? A pep talk perhaps.
I have a wonderful caring toddler 22 month old who is starting to enter the phase of uncontrollable emotional breakdowns. I’m 22 weeks pregnant but my bump is already a massive kicking watermelon. We have been isolating for three months with no real end in sight.
All of this was manageable for me but yesterday my partner was in an accident which has left him unable to dress, wash or use the toilet on his own. Thankfully he should make a full recovery in time.
I’m stressed. I feel guilty for even making this post which feels like a complaint. I had to wash my partner in the shower and my son screamed bloody murder the whole time. Pounding on the glass. I never ignore his genuine cries so it broke my heart. He just doesn’t understand why he can’t play with daddy, why mommy has to dress and wash daddy, why daddy can’t participate in his daily routines like he used to.
I feel like I’m going to have to ignore the coronavirus and send him to his grandparents on a daily basis. We’ve been strict this far and just can’t get myself over the fact I will be putting my family at a greater risk.
I’m worried this situation is unsustainable for me.
