So are shitty spawns just part of this game?

I spawned and walked one direction for less then 50 meters, got in a gunfight with a PMC, then died from the direct opposite direction from another pmc? Is this working as intended or?

Edit: Hit woods up again and scavenged an SR-25 so I feel better.
