Finasteride Results Question

Finasteride/Dutasteride

Hey r/Tressless

So for a second of context, 22 male, been tested for just about every sort of deficiency out there + t3/t4/tsh and all seemed to be good on all those fronts. I started taking Finasteride (1mg) 7.5-8 months ago and I still haven't seen much of a reduction in shedding/thining. Miniaturization hasn't seemed to stop at all either. I'm meeting with a derm in a little under 2 weeks to further discuss this all but I had wanted to ask at what point would one consider the treatment to be one that doesn't work for them. My family has a history of MPB however the earliest any of my relatives (+grandparents) lost any hair was in their early 60s. However, it's clear that the hair loss is on my scalp, receding hairline, and on my crown a little. Also, I've noticed that over the past year my hair quality has just shot down the drain, overall feels much worse, more dead. So yea, I'm considering trying out minoxidil in the near future just seems like a really big hassle to use and style hair with. Just wanted to inquire on when people generally call it quits and say the drug isn't working.

TL;DR Hairloss but fin doing very little, over 7-8 months into using it.

(English isn't my first language so apologies if something doesn't make sense).
