Loud digestive system noises from cat
Hello all, apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask the question.
My 8 year old cat has not been handling the recent weeks of social distancing (i.e., trapped inside with a 5 & 3 year old child plus another cat) very well. Some hairballs, hiding and laying on her side in unusual positions, lower activity level, some weight loss and reduced appetite (more like rejecting the dry foods she used to eat and preferring wet foods.)
I took her to the vet for a physical and blood work (standard set of labs, not the senior cat battery of tests.) Vet doesn't see anything wrong and just wants me to monitor. Only causes for concern on the bloodwork were low glucose (likely an artifact from not centrifuging the blood sample) and high thyroid levels (high end of normal)
After the vet visit I noticed that kitty's digestive system has been frequently making loud noises, oftentimes sounding like a sloshing. Maybe I wasn't listening closely before, but I'm noticing them now and getting concerned it could be stomach cancer, blockage, or something else. She's been eating her hairball treats every day in case there's an obstruction due to hairballs, but her stools appear normal and she hasn't vomited since saturday. She generally doesn't appear to be in discomfort besides some odd positions she contorts herself into.
I'm interested in hearing the thoughts from the community, especially if your cat's had loud and frequent digestive sounds. Should I be concerned at this point, or am I just imagining things? Are there any diagnostics I should ask my vet about?
