Any recommendations for USB sound card/sac/amp for Tomahawk Max?

Just bought a new pair of Sennheiser 599s ...not overly impressed and been told it’s probably not-so-great audio on my mobo.

Has anyone had any luck adding a relatively cheap device to the Tomahawk Max and benefiting from better sound?
