What are the requirements for DPD to carry/use non-lethal weapons?

For example, I think to carry pepper spray or to use a taser you should have to be pepper sprayed or tasered once every year or maybe every other year. Want to tear gas someone? Maybe you’ll be hesitant if you know what it feels like. What are the [theoretical] DPD rules of engagement for these weapons? Thanks in advance for the responses.
