Never Noticed This

Discussion

So I looked at the original manual and box for the original Castlevania, and the word Dracula is never said. Like at all. He’s only called “The Evil Count” or just “The Count”. Only until Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest is he referred to as Dracula. Why is that? The character/book of Dracula fell into the public domain in 1962 so it couldn’t have been copyright reasons. Just a weird thing I noticed. If anyone has an answer i’d love to hear it.

Edit: Also he is retroactively named Dracula in the description on the Anniversary Collection so something changed.
