SLOE Timing

Hi,

Quick question. Not sure if this is the place to ask it, but with all of the changes in the application cycle this year I have put myself in a sticky situation.

For some reason in all of my meticulous planning, I never considered how long it takes from the end of an away rotation to generate a SLOE. To spare a lot of details, the away rotation that I have accepted ends on September 27th. I was told today that this might be too late of a rotation to have my SLOE in by the date ERAS opens for review this year (Oct. 21). So, I guess I have 2 questions:

  1. Is there any consensus on how long it get ally takes to get a SLOE after a rotation is completed?
  2. How negative of an impact will this have on my app? Will programs be more understanding of delayed apps with everything

***sorry if this isn’t the right place for this and if it’s not is there a better place I can go for answers?

Also, I called the clerkship coordinator and she stated that she believed that the program generally will have the SLOEs completed within about 3 weeks, which would be cutting it close.
