i am just beyond annoyed.

a few weeks ago i made a post talking about how frustrating it was trying to get my dermatologist to do a prior authorization so i dont have to spend $300 for 30 pills. i ended up having to use a goodRx coupon which brought the price down to $150. still pretty bad, but better. i only had one day left in the window to pick up the meds and i was not going to drop $50 on a copay to take a pregnancy test just so they could fuck up again. so $150 it is (hopefully insurance reimburses me later). well, fast forward to today where i would be starting 40 mg in a week. i had hoped that maybe this time they would get a prior authorization in since they had a good 3 weeks to try to.

NOPE!

called my insurance the 2nd and they contacted my derm. i called my derm the next day to confirm if they got contacted and they said yes, and they sent in a claim or something. thought, ok good FINALLY some progress. (keep in mind i called them twice before starting my first month of treatment asking to do a prior authorization, and they had problems with sending out a claim to insurance and didnt inform me that they were having issues and left me in the dark). i called insurance thursday asking about the status of the PA and they said dermatologist did not fax over any information yet or anything so theyre waiting on them even though they said they did. you have got to be kidding me bro.

i ended up calling my derm’s office to which no one responded. in fact, they are closed until monday - the last day i can pick up my prescription! isnt that fantastic news for me lol! left a message asking them to please fax over everything to my insurance OR do a verbal prior authorization on the phone. why is this such a difficult process? what the fuck is going on here? i cant believe this is happening again. its almost comical. i would just like to know why this is so difficult for them. i honestly dont know what more i can do? im busting my balls out here trying to contact everyone making sure there is some damn communication going on but holy. fuck. never talked to this many people on the phone in all of my 18 years on this planet. thanks for listening to my rant
