Law of Gear

I've noticed something with the amount of gear that I go out with recently and it's especially noticeable post wipe:

Shitty gear: play recklessly, get ok loot and destroy any PMC's I see

Mid-tier gear: make it about 15 minutes in and die in a decent battle

High tier gear: Die immediately

Bonus Get a quest item (especially gas analyzers or flash drives) - die withing 100 feet of the exit

How's everyone else fairing out there?
