Got put on Anxiety meds for the first time

Hey everyone,

I’ve had anxiety all my life and it’s been manageable until COVID hit. In February/ March I had some of the worst panic attacks I’ve ever had before. This introduced me to chest pain and soreness that stayed even when I wasn’t having anxiety. This paired with various false COVID symptoms lead me down a dark hypochondriac tunnel I’m still trying to recover from. It’s been months now and the chest pain is still there, I went to the doctors for the first time since lock down and they decided to put me on Buspirone/Buspar. I’ve never had medication for anxiety before and I’m pretty scared to start taking it. Anyone else on this currently? Any tips for starting anxiety meds??
