VM crashes when installing drivers to fix error 31

[WIN10 VM on Ubuntu Server 18.04]

I have an RTX 2060 Super which is passed through to my VM. So far I've gotten past error code 43, and now I'm on to error code 31. I have tried downloading the drivers from Nvidia's website, however all of them say that my system is incompatible. I then went to download the drivers through device manager by clicking the search the internet for drivers option, and it got to the installing stage, however about halfway through that stage the entire VM stopped responding, and I was left with a frozen VM. I'm confused at how I should continue with installing the GPU drivers at this point.
