Should I (26) bait my coworker(31) to see if he feels the same way?

I really really really like this guy. We work in different departments but always finding excuses to work together or chill with one another (even when I’m desperate to go home!) . My friend told me to bait him by telling him someone is approaching me and shooting his shot or something. Put a fire under him to make him move if he feels anything.. is that a good idea? I don’t know how to maneuver this to give me the answers I’m desperate for

I’ve tried to be distant to just turn this off but it’s difficult even if we’re miles apart now Please help.

Would love to know how you would maneuver in this situation?
