1995 Camaro interior clean out and restoration- in way over my head
So I inherited a 1995 Camaro that has sat for nearly 10 years. As of the last time it was driven there are no major mechanical issues. Unfortunately the interior isnt in great shape.
The inside of the car has mold and mildew growth on just about every surface, especially the spongy top of the car. When the doors are first opened the smell is really strong even from a few feet away. Other than the top everything else in the car looks fairly salvageable. I've been using vinegar and a semi soft scrub brush on the plastic surfaces and plan on vinegar and a carpet cleaner for the seats and floor. But I am completely stumped on how to handle the major mold colony, especially since masks are scarce around here. I've been making due with a surgical mask under a cloth mask.
I'm sure there is plenty more that I'm overlooking and would love any and all advice. Honestly I only know the bare minimum on cars so this is a massive project in a a completely new element.
Please be warned these pictures are graphic- I am sorry for the conditions you are about to see, but understand that shes gonna be beautiful again someday soon.
