Lucid dreams within dreams, and an idea for portals

Experience

Anyone ever have a dream where they "realize" they're in a dream but they don't actually go lucid? I had one last night where my dream-self was lucid dreaming, or rather, "in the dream world". I was convinced that I had recently begin learning to master control of it (though I haven't, not really). I think it was probably inspired by all the Wheel of Time I've been reading lately (felt a little like Tel'Aran'Rhiod tricks) but it was actually super cool cause I was able to do stuff in the dream that I usually have tons of trouble doing when I truly go lucid. It was a weird half-lucidity where I was in control of what I was doing and aware that I was manipulating the dream world, but my dream-brain had more control than my conscious brain in terms of what I decided to do. I totally forgot about this till just now (it's late afternoon) so I don't remember a ton, just that I was experimenting with creating portals to different places I wanted to go. I would stick my hand out to my side and turn my head the other way and imagine myself creating a portal out of my sight to wherever I wanted to go. Then I would turn and look and it would be there, and I could walk through it to my destination. Felt like a really neat trick that I'm interested to try next time I reach true lucidity.
